How we use
your information.

This website (madenew.ch) is operated by MADENEW A NONPROFIT CORPORATION, a Washington nonprofit corporation doing business as madenew ("madenew," "we," "us," or "our"). Our mailing address is [MAILING ADDRESS PENDING]. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@madenew.ch.

MADENEW A NONPROFIT CORPORATION is currently in formation. References to our 501(c)(3) status will be added upon receipt of the IRS determination letter.

We collect a small amount of information, only as needed to operate the site and the newsletter.

• Email address, provided voluntarily when you sign up for our newsletter via the Subscribe form.
• Server log data, when you visit the site, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) automatically receives standard request data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. This is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
• Cookies and similar technologies, see §05 below. Currently, we set only the cookies required to remember your cookie-consent choice. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
• Information you send us, if you email us at hello@madenew.ch or otherwise contact us, we receive whatever you choose to share.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government IDs, precise geolocation, or other sensitive personal information through this site.

We use the information we collect to:

• Send you the newsletter you subscribed to and related communications about madenew.
• Operate, secure, monitor, and improve the website.
• Respond to your inquiries and provide support.
• Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share personal information only with a limited set of service providers who help us run the site and the newsletter, and only as necessary for them to perform their function.

• Hosting: Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, CA) hosts this website and processes server log data.
• Domain & DNS: our domain registrar and DNS provider.
• Email delivery (when applicable): when we begin sending the newsletter, we will use a reputable email service provider (such as [EMAIL PROVIDER, TBD]) to store subscriber emails and send messages.
• Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of madenew, our community, or others.

If madenew is involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy that you have an opportunity to review.

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We currently use one essential cookie ("madenew_cookie_consent") that records your response to the cookie banner so we don't show it to you again.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future (for example, a privacy-respecting product like Vercel Analytics or Plausible), we will update this Privacy Policy and the cookie banner before doing so, and your prior consent choices will be invalidated so you can reconfirm.

You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may affect some site functionality (for example, the cookie banner will reappear).

You always have the right to:

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing hello@madenew.ch.
• Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Email hello@madenew.ch and we will respond within a reasonable time.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

EU / UK residents (GDPR). If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful bases for processing are: consent (for the newsletter and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (for operating and securing the site), and legal obligation (for compliance).

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at hello@madenew.ch and we will delete it.

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Newsletter subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

madenew operates from the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated more prominently (for example, by email to active subscribers or by a notice on the site).
